Services Offered
Kendall Regional Medical Center provides adult and geriatric acute inpatient psychiatric care and is a Baker Act Designated receiving facility that will treat a wide range of behavioral health diagnoses in a calm and soothing environment.
Specialized Treatment Services
Kendall Regional Medical Center’s new behavioral health services unit eases the critical shortage of behavioral health beds in the region. The 23 bed unit combines an environment of safety and comfort for our patient. We are committed to providing high quality behavioral health treatment to the Miami-Dade County community. Our new unit provides our patients with both individual and group based therapy programs, including age specific programming and co-occurring disorders. Kendall Regional Medical Center’s interdisciplinary clinical team will consist of psychiatric licensed professionals including psychiatrists, registered nurses, clinical social workers, dieticians, and other mental health professionals. Our program specifically provides for a therapeutic environment for patients with major psychiatric diagnoses, such as schizophrenias, bipolar disorders, major depression disorders, etc.
Total Care
The Kendall Regional Medical Center behavioral health unit provides our members with the best treatment available through a combination of care coordination, preventive health programs and medication management. The psychiatrist administers the treatment team of experienced mental health professionals, including nurses, therapists, social workers, mental health technicians and case managers.Patients are individually evaluated and their needs are prioritized in order to ensure they receive the necessary treatments. Patients and families are encouraged to actively participate in both the planning and implementation of the treatment and to follow up in the community upon discharge with aftercare appointments.

Treatment Goals
The overall goal of the Behavioral Health Services Department is to provide rapid stabilization in a safe, therapeutic environment, returning patients to their home environment as soon as possible.
