  • We offer 10 categorical positions each year.
  • We will participate in the NRMP match for 2016
  • We sponsor J1 visas.
  • Interviews are granted on an invitation only basis.

  • Personal statement
  • Three letters of recommendation (written within the last 6 months)
  • Dean’s letter
  • Transcripts
  • USMLE +/- COMLEX Step 1 and Step 2 CK and CS results/scores
  • ECFMG Certification, if applicable.
  • Photograph

Eligibility Criteria

LCME graduates:

  • Passed USMLE I and USMLE II at first attempt with a minimum score of 210
  • Medical school graduation within the last 5 years
  • Doctor of Medicine diploma without reservations
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Proof of US citizenship or appropriate visa status

AOA graduates:

  • Passed USMLE I and USMLE II at first attempt with a minimum score of 210
  • Medical school graduation within the last 5 years
  • Doctor of Osteopathy diploma without reservations
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Proof of US citizenship or appropriate visa status

International graduates:

  • Passed USMLE I and USMLE II at first attempt with a minimum score of 210
  • Medical school graduation within the last 5 years
  • Doctor of Medicine diploma without reservations
  • Current ECFMG certification or certification in prior to ranking
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Proof of US citizenship or appropriate visa status

**The program director may permit the waiver of one or more of these requirements under special circumstances.

Reasons for Ineligibility

Applicant does not demonstrate sufficient commitment to the specialty of Internal Medicine, included but not limited to:

  • No advanced-level electives during medical school
  • Applicant did not present favorable impression to faculty, resident physicians and/or residency coordinator during elective time or interview process
  • Quality of interaction during preliminary contact with staff suggests incompatibility with the mission and values of the program and hospital
  • Quality of personal statement (content, typographical and grammatical errors), including no obvious commitment to Internal Medicine
  • Limited verbal and written English skills, including the inability to write clearly and legibly

Applicants must have successfully participated in formal clinical training, medical school, residency training, or full-time clinical practice within the last 24 months (from date of application to the residency program).
