Dr. Carlos R. Medina was born in Mayaguez, P.R. He attended and graduated with a medical degree from the Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine in Puerto Rico. He trained in plastic surgery at Temple University under some of the leading innovators in cosmetic surgery. He performs a variety of procedures, including facelifts, brow lifts, blepharoplasty, neck lifts, abdominoplasty, breast augmentation, reduction and lift, liposculpture, rhinoplasty, laser resurfacing, injectable aesthetic fillers and Botox; as well as other reconstructive surgeries. Dr. Medina is licensed to practice medicine in Florida. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery. He has been widely published and has been a guest speaker at many regional and national medical venues. Most recently, he has delivered presentations entitled, Radial Forearm Free Flap Pre-lamination with Acellular Human Cadaveric Dermis for Repair of Subtotal Glossectomy Defects and An Innovative Technique for Alveolar Grafting. His most current publications include, The Use of an Innovative Device for Upper Extremity Fasciotomy Closure and Acellular Cadeveric Dermis (Alloderm) for Ventricular Coverage after a Gunshot Wound. In addition to being involved in numerous national studies in plastic surgery, Dr. Carlos R. Medina has made use of his own experience as a plastic surgeon to perform reconstructions for patients suffering from skin cancer, breast cancer, ulcers and trauma related injuries.
